Mewtwo TCG Cards
1st Ed. Base Set Mewtwo

Not in the best of shape, and I plan on picking up a better one eventually, but not at the insanely inflated prices eBay sellers are trying to get for them now.
Sidenote - I love how everyone tried to play "Mulligan Mewtwo" using 4 of this and 56 psychic energy and Barrier their way to a win when a single Energy Removal card destroyed the strategy. I played against one in a tournament and the dude's face when I dropped a removal card was priceless.

Unlimited Shadowless Base Set

Much better quality - still not as good as a mint 1/e but definitely better than the extremely common version.
Standard Base Set Mewtwo

This is a compendium, so even the cheap and easy to find stuff still needs to get posted. I'm sure you've seen hundreds of these if you're on this website, so here's one more. :p
Base 2 Mewtwo

I swear the next card will actually be different!
Gold-Stamped Mewtwo Promo #3

This card singlehandedly revolutionized the Pokemon TCG for a while. Computer Search, discard 2 energy, grab whatever, psychic energy on Mewtwo, Absorption, you just threw down 3 energy in one turn and were ready to blast for 40 next turn to anything that wasn't Wigglytuff and 80 to Hitmonchans that threatened your Wigglies. Understanding why this card worked made the competitive Pokemon aspect of the TCG "click" in my head. By the way, a much, MUCH rarer of this version of this card is up in the Holy Grails section...
Mewtwo Promo #14

For a while, Promo #3 was a bit valuable because you could only get it from the theater and unless you knew someone that worked there it was a 1/4 chance of getting it from seeing the movie. This one getting packaged with the home release made it a bit easier to get a competitive deck going.
Nintendo Power Promo

For a card that was initially only released through the magazine - and thus more valuable than any other Mewtwo card out there at the time - this card sure sucked in gameplay.
Legendary Collection (NP Mewtwo Re-release)

Wizards of the Coast's reprint set made this guy a bit easier for people to get...for the few people that wanted him. He wasn't all that hard to get and I remember trading very little to pick one up.
Rocket's Mewtwo 1/e

This was, if I'm not mistaken, the first Pokemon to have three attacks. Now a Pokemon that has 3 attacks - or access to 3 - is pretty common.
Rocket's Mewtwo unlimited

Since having both versions of this posted is slightly redundant I'll mention that having to flip to inflict sleep is pretty much useless. I also apologize for the flash on this pic - cards with reflective surfaces were often difficult to get good shots of.
Rocket's Mewtwo BEST promo

I love the idea of a Mewtwo card being used as a champion's trophy - hell, the most valuable Mewtwo card in existence is a trophy card - just wish they'd do it with a better card.
Expedition Normal Foil

Aaaand the barrage of really shitty Mewtwo cards continues. This was during the period of time where everything competitive was a Stage 2 or a Stage 1 supported by a Stage 2. I'm pretty sure no one ever played this card, ever.
Expedition Reverse Foil

...but at least it was pretty and nice to look at.
Expedition Normal Rare

...the non-foil can't even claim that much.
Legends Awakened Foil

A little better but still only "okay" - the auto-sleep was a step in the right direction, and Psychic would have been fairly costed if Double Colorless was legal at the time. Punishing an opponent for overloading on energy was a good idea - if only they would expand on that idea in the future...hmm...
Legends Awakened Reverse

...but sadly this guy would be relegated to the trade binder.
Majestic Dawn Reverse Foil

So much better and on the right path. Sad he was outclassed by most other cards then. 0-energy cost Energy Absorption, a way to heal damage, and Psyburn upgraded to 60? This thing should have been a friggin' champ. They were getting closer to another uber Mewtwo though.
Pokemon Rumble promo

Cute Mewtwo, love the artwork, but it's a shame he didn't have the absorption ability of his predecessors to enable that 70 damage to get off quickly.
Holon Phantoms

An electric Mewtwo. Interesting. Still a number of steps backward from what we had shortly before.
Delta Species

And the first dual-typed Mewtwo. Not an epic card, but an interesting concept.
Reverse Foil Legendary Collection

Not much to say here but OMGSPARKLYYYYY
Shining Mewtwo 1/e

For as valuable as these cards are and as cool as they look, the Shining Pokemon were universally shit and sadly Mewtwo is no exception. Reflect Shield is an interesting ability but the dual energy requirement kinda hurts.
Shining Mewtwo unlimited

Slightly less valuable version of the above. Still sucks in gameplay.
Unknown Japanese Mewtwo promo

No clue what it does or where it came from. I'll hopefully fix that later. If you're reading this and have that info please let me know!
Japanese Rocket's Mewtwo

Don't know where I picked this up - I don't see it on eBay or elsewhere that often but I can't think it's worth all that much.
Japanese Great Rocket's Mewtwo

The only "Great" thing the Rockets did is make Mewtwo. That's all I've gotta say on this one.
Mewtwo Lv. X

This was a pretty good ability for Mewtwo to have, and if I remember correctly he actually saw some competitive play for a while because of it.
Mewtwo EX (Ruby/Sapphire)

Oh, Mewtwo...30 extra HP and an additional 20 damage from Psyburn does not make it worth an additional prize card if you were to fall in battle...
Mewtwo EX (Next Destinies) FULL ART

This...THIS is what Mewtwo EX should be and should have always been. It had been years since Mewtwo wrecked face in the competitive scene; at 2012 Worlds, every deck was packing multiple copies. 170 HP, a double colorless energy (now legal again!) does 40 damage + an additional 20 for everything on the defending Pokemon. You either played Mewtwo EX, played a counter to it, or lost. With DCE legal and commonly played, he's STILL splashed into every deck today, just for the versatility and late-game cleanup power he can have. Next Destinies did Mewtwo right and made him the psychic powerhouse all of us Mewtwo fans knew he could be!
Mewtwo EX (Next Destinies) standard foil

Still pretty. Still valuable. Can still kick your ass.
Oversized Legendary Collection Mewtwo Promo

Giant sparkly Mewtwo is giant and sparkly!
Oversized Coro Coro Promo

It's probably a good thing this guy never became playable. Allowing both players to add their entire deck's worth of Pokemon to their hand automatically would be a weeee bit broken.
Mewtwo Collection Box

Too bad this thing didn't include a playable version of Mewtwo EX - though a promo released in September of 2012 did that and made it so, so much easier for players to become competitive. Pretty box and nice jumbo card (and re-release of a Japanese bottlecap figure to boot.)
Prerelease Mewtwo Deck Box

I believe this was given to those at the Next Destinies prerelease. Nice artwork to go with the set that did the most for Mewtwo and his fans.
Misc. Mewtwo deck box #1

Not much to add here - need to remember where this came from.
Misc. Mewtwo deck box #2

Need to remember where this one came from too. I will say I like this style of deck box better than the vertical one, even if I like the art on the other ones better.
World Championship 2006 Deck Box

I absolutely love this pic and I'm glad they used it on -everything- from Worlds '06.
Japanese Mewtwo Sketch Art Deck Box

Not a grail, but so damn nice with the art. I remember paying way too much money for this on Y!J - after fees and shipping I think it was close to $45. If I had a second one of this I'd probably use it for whatever TCG I was playing at the time.
Mewtwo Card Holder

Not a deck box per se, but another official Mewtwo item to store cards in. I remember seeing these pop up on eBay from Australia, repeatedly, for a little while. Maybe they were more widely released there?
TCG League Store Poster

This was a damn nice piece of promotional material I was lucky to get a hold of.
TCG League Promotional Window Sticker

Picked this up the same time I got the poster. Could not get a solid shot of this to save my life. Flash shows up on the bottom, no flash and the photo looks like shit. Will try and retake this photo another time.
First Movie small binder

My collection outgrew this binder a while ago but it's still a nice piece of promo material. Haven't seen one of these pop up on eBay for a WHILE.
Large Official TCG binder (back)

And finishing out the TCG section for now, here's an official binder. Mewtwo's on the back, therefore it's the only part of the binder that matters. :p It's the binder I currently use to store my collection, but it's not my favorite binder...might want to take a gander over to Holy Grails for THAT one.
